The National Office for Intellectual Property established a non-profit agency, HIPAVILON Magyar Szellemi Tulajdon Ügynökség Nonprofit Kft. as a new market player of Hungary’s system of innovation-oriented institutions to promote the growth and market opportunities of Hungarian innovation.
On behalf of the Government, Deputy Prime Minister Tibor Navracsics expressed his support for the establishment of the National Youth Council to the representatives of the attending civil organisations focusing on young people. By virtue of the foundation of the organisation, Hungary, as the last of the EU Member States, may now join the European Youth Forum, an organisation with a membership of more than a hundred European youth organisations.
The Venice Commission found the Hungarian laws currently under review, that is, the franchise law, the law on the rights of nationalities and the legislation on the prosecution service, democratic on the whole and concluded that they serve constitutionality, Minister of State for Justice Róbert Répássy said after the plenary session of the body on Friday.
The H4- HunOR Representative Office in Brussels to be opened under the auspices of the Ministry of Public Administration and Justice will provide a more effective and more active presence in Brussels for both the counties of Hungary and the Hungarian research and development sector. By virtue of opening the office, the Ministry hopes to improve the aid level of counties and the entire Hungarian R+D sector available from EU funding. Thanks to the new information network, counties will have a direct link to tender funding made available in Brussels for the fulfilment of their new development tasks.

Raphael’s Esterházy Madonna will be on display at the Fertőd Esterházy Castle, which is gradually regaining its original splendour, at the weekend as part of the Night of the Museums event. Thanks to the spectacular refurbishment project implemented within the framework of the New Széchenyi Plan, the castle will be one of the gem stones of Hungarian and European culture, and the showcasing of the Esterházy Madonna will be an important milestone in this process. Visitors may view the painting from 8.00 p.m. on Saturday until 6.00 a.m. on Sunday.

Yet another Freedom House report has been released that is based on a number of incorrect arguments. It is proof of the fact that the Washington-based organisation measures democracies in Central- and Eastern-Europe with double standards. The report reveals that the organisation shows not the slightest sign of empathy or understanding towards the region, and specifically Hungary, that left communism behind twenty years ago but is still in need of a number of changes and reforms on account of the deficiencies of the inherited constitutional system.
