Amendment of Media Law Before Parliament

On behalf of the Government, the Minister of Public Administration and Justice presented to Parliament the proposed amendments to certain laws related to media services and press products. The Ministry announced already in April that, in acknowledgement of the decision of the Constitutional Court, they would present the proposed amendments to the legislation in order to achieve full harmony with the Fundamental Law.

The Metropolitan Court of Appeal has registered MAZSÖK’s new board of trustees on a final and absolute basis. The Jewish Heritage of Hungary Public Endowment was established by the Government of the Republic of Hungary in 1997 for the purpose of honouring its international legal commitments undertaken in the Paris Peace Treaty.

At the 1st Country Image Conference held at the Budapest Corvinus University on Thursday, Zoltán Kovács, Minister of State for Government Communication at the Ministry of Public Administration and Justice delivered a lecture in which he said the development of the country’s image is an integral process which is the totality of the actions, thoughts and attitudes of every Hungarian citizen. The image others may have of Hungary also has an external element; that which foreigners think about us, and this must be thoroughly assessed with meticulous work.

Hungary to host this year’s Memorial Day for the victims of totalitarian regimes

Hungary will host this year’s Day of Remembrance of the victims of totalitarian regimes to be held with the participation of EU Member States on 23 August. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Public Administration and Justice Dr Tibor Navracsics will inform the justice ministers of Member States at the Friday justice session of the Justice and Home Affairs Council meeting to be held on 26-27 April.
