Zsuzsanna Nemeth, the new minister of national development, has taken her oath of office in parliament on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Viktor Orban has nominated Zsuzsanna Nemeth to replace Tamas Fellegi as National Development Minister, the prime minister's spokesman Peter Szijjarto said.
The outcomes of the recently held Durban UN climate change conference were discussed by the Environment Council on 19 December 2011 in Brussels. At the meeting of ministers, Hungary was represented by Deputy State Secretary for European Union and International Affairs, Tamás Iván Kovács.
The United States District Court for the District of Columbia has issued a decision granting the Republic of Hungary’s Motion for Certification. The Court’s decision grants Hungary’s request for immediate review of decision and illustrates that there are valid grounds for difference of opinion as to whether the Herzog case can proceed in U.S. courts.
Agreements with the International Monetary Fund and the European Commission for a Protective Net for Hungary Hungary's financing must be ensured even if the crisis of the euro and the euro area deepens, causing increased uncertainty and disturbances in the financial markets. Under the changed international conditions, Hungary needs a protective net, and only the agreement to be concluded with the International Monetary Fund and the European Commission can provide such a guarantee. This was the precondition to avoiding incapacitation and to ensuring Hungary's financing from the market, Minister for National Development Tamás Fellegi pointed out at the government spokespersons' meeting on 8 December 2011.
At a press conference on 5 December 2011, Minister for National Development Tamás Fellegi presented a White Paper that sums up the reasons leading to the current situation of Malév. The minister mentioned the operation of a national airline centred in Budapest and ensuring efficient enforcement of the national economic interests as a priority objective of the government. The Ministry of National Development compiled the White Paper to give a detailed presentation of the reasons leading to Malév’s current difficult situation, name the responsible persons and come closer to the solution by revealing the facts.

Tamás Fellegi, Minister for National Development conducted bilateral talks with Reinhold Mitterlehner, Federal Minister of Economy, Family and Youth and Doris Bures, Minister of Transport, Innovation and Technology of Austria on 21 November 2011 in Vienna. During the official visit, the parties reviewed the current issues of relations in the field of energy and transport.
“For long decades the Castle Bazaar was the ornament of the Castle District along the River Danube. Today it is merely an ugly blot on the historical cityscape”, said the minister’s commissioner Ferenc Zumbok on 15 November 2011 in the Buda Castle mentioning the restoration work of the Castle Bazaar and the Castle District.
In summary of his visit to China, Minister of National Development, Tamás Fellegi, who also acts as Government Commissioner for Hungarian-Chinese Bilateral Relations declared that since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two countries have been experiencing the most intensive period in their cooperation. Further agreements are expected to be signed in the near future about the utilisation of the EUR 1 billion development limit granted for projects in Hungary. The first specific project to be implemented may be the urban rapid transit system connecting Budapest with the Liszt Ferenc Airport.
