Hungarian contribution to Vietnam’s new industry

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Nguyen Thien Nhan arrived to Hungary for an official three-day visit. His meetings focused on research and development (R&D), nuclear regulation, training and higher education, as well as on advanced vocational and postgraduate study programmes. The Deputy Prime Minister met Minister for National Development Zsuzsa Németh and visited the MVM Paks Nuclear Power Plant as well.

Ministry to launch HUF 870 m tender for solar collector developments at public institutions

The Ministry of National Development calls for tenders to install solar energy systems in buildings managed by residential public institutions as of 5 August 2013. The support may cover up to 100 percent of eligible historical costs. Financed from quota revenues, the total tender amount is HUF 867.2 million.

Hungary organises the world fencing championships for the fourth time, now between 5 and 12 August 2013. Over 1,000 representatives of more than 100 countries participate in the prestigious sports event. Upon the initiative of the Hungarian National Asset Management, Inc. (MNV Zrt.) and with the approval of the Ministry of National Development MÁV-START Zrt. and the VOLÁN companies provide a 50% travel discount for those travelling to the world championships.

The Ministry of National Development welcomes the official announcement on the establishment of the V4G4 Centre of Excellence, which marks the beginning of the joint work of nuclear research institutes in the Visegrad Region (the Hungarian Academy of Sciences Centre for Energy Research /MTA EK/, the Polish Narodowym Centrum Badań Jądrowych /NCBJ/, the Czech ÚJV Řež, a.s. and the Slovakian VUJE, a.s.) for the research, development and innovation of Generation IV (G4) nuclear reactors.

The handover of a HUF 664 million worth investment took place in Szolnok on 12 July 2013. SPECIMPEX Trading and Service Ltd. had been granted HUF 284 million worth EU support from New Széchenyi Plan funds to finance infrastructure development and asset acquisition investments.
Two projects for EU low-carbon renewable energy tender

Hungary’s development ministry said it had selected two projects for the second tender of the NER300 programme, which funds innovative low-carbon technology and renewable energy projects. NER300 is managed jointly by the European Commission, the European Investment Bank and member states.
Hungary e-toll generates EUR 9.5M in first week

Hungary’s new proportional electronic toll system generated revenue of more than 2.8 billion forints (EUR 9.5m) in the first week of its operation, the National Development Ministry’s state secretary said on Monday.
