Held at the Western Railway Station, the event was addressed by MÁV-START Ltd. CEO Csaba Ungvári and Deputy Chief Mayor Dr. Balázs Szeneczey.

More State Railway Property Donated to Three Local Authorities Free of Charge

Two sports fields formerly owned by the Hungarian State Railways (MÁV Zrt.) have been donated by the state to Székesfehérvár City with County Rights free of charge, Minister of State for State Property of the Ministry of National Development Sára Nemes Hegmanné announced in Székesfehérvár on 3 September, 2013. Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence Tamás Vargha, General Director of the Hungarian National Asset Management (NAM) Ltd. Responsible for Tangible and Intangible Assets Gyula Marjay and Mayor András Cser-Palkovics also spoke at the press briefing held on the occasion of the transfer of the properties.

Court of Chicago Dismisses Damages Actions against MNB and MÁV

On 20 August 2013, the Federal District Court of Chicago terminated various Holocaust related proceedings against the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) and Hungarian State Railways (MÁV). The Court unconditionally dismissed the damages claims on the grounds that the claimants failed to prove the unavailability of appropriate legal remedies in Hungary.

The Company received approximately 7,300 property offers from the onset to the end of July 2013, which secured accommodation for nearly 32,900 individuals.
