More effective criminal cooperation between Hungary and other EU Member States

Criminal legal aid between Hungary and other Member States of the European Union will become swifter, the detection of crimes will become more effective and in consequence, local criminal proceedings requiring international cooperation will be closed faster. Additionally, judicial cooperation in criminal cases will become more efficient in the wake of the bill on criminal cooperation with the Member States of the EU which Parliament will begin to debate today.
Cross-border cooperation between Hungary and Slovenia

Today in Szentgotthárd participants at the fourth sitting of the Hungary – Slovenia Cross-border Joint Committee discussed issues affecting the region’s infrastructure and rural development, cooperation in agriculture, joint action on environmental protection, present and planned links in tourism and culture, and the possibilities for economic cooperation.
Walk over the Danube, across the bridge of Hungarian innovations

Government’s new social programme to close a successful year

Social solidarity is the engine of the Erzsébet Programme launched by the Government last year on which Parliament also passed a law in June. The essence of the programme is that employers may provide Erzsébet Vouchers for their employees for meals and catering services as a benefit over and above the basic pay, and the state revenue derived from the distribution of the vouchers is used by the State solely for the purposes of social holiday schemes.

Ramil Sahib Safarov’s sentence will continue to be enforced by Azerbaijan

Ramil Sahib Safarov, an Azerbaijani national imprisoned in Hungary since 19 February 2004, sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering Gurgen Margaryan, an Armenian national, has requested - pursuant to the 1983 Strasbourg Convention on the Transfer of Sentenced Persons - his transfer to Azerbaijan in order to serve his sentence in Azerbaijan.
