Strasbourg-based Council of Europe which compromises 47 countries organized meeting on 23d November 2011 on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the signature of the Council of Europe Convention on Cybercrime (Budapest Convention). Károly Kontrát, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Interior held the opening speech at the event.

On the Salzburg Forum Ministerial Conference Hungary recommended that Salzburg Forum States should not only cooperate in the rapid implementation of the EU Directive on facilitating the cross-border exchange of information on traffic offences which has recently entered into force and had been negotiated under the Hungarian EU Presidency but should also promote the implementation of decisions finding infringement and imposing fines.
The Southeast European Cooperative Initiative (SECI) to prevent and combat cross-border crime was adopted in Bucharest on 26th May 1999. In order to develop SECI Center a Convention (Convention on the Establishment of the Southeast European Law Enforcement Center - SELEC) was signed – as a result of intensive negotiations over nearly 3 years - on 9th December 2009 in Bucharest.

On the proposal of Catherine Ashton, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Member States made the decision to appoint Prison Service Brigadier General dr. László Huszár as Head of the crisis management mission (EUJUST LEX Iraq) that helps to develop the capabilities of the Iraqi administrative management of law enforcement and judicial systems. The Hungarian Head of the mission will take his duty station in Baghdad soon – joint bulletin of the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says.
