During the course of his three-day visit to South America, Hungary’s State Secretary for Foreign Affairs discussed technology and education in Brazil and held a presentation at the World Science Forum (WSF).
The heads of the competent ministries of Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia signed a declaration on developing transport connections between the Visegrád countries in Budapest, on 27 November, 2013.

From the 28 Member States of the European Union, Hungary was the first to allocate free European CO2 quotas to 11 power producing establishments on 26 November, 2013. The free quotas play an extremely important role in the modernisation of Hungary’s power sector and restore Community legal security in the EU Emissions Trading System.
Péter Mihalovics, Ministerial Commissioner for the Coordination of the programme For the Future of the New Generation, recalled that the New Generation Plus Programme aims to establish a system of youth support institutions, develop a uniform communication platform for the age group and extend youth services. “I am confident that the system will be operable in the long run to coordinate the work of the public and private sectors, which will be able to reinforce each other’s work for young people and the new generation”, the Ministerial Commissioner emphasised.
On the last day of his official trip to Israel Minister of Foreign Affairs János Martonyi visited the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot.
The budget bill for next year is in line with the Government’s key objectives formulated in 2010 which aim to improve employment, cut general government debt, keep the level of government budget deficit below 3 percent – in other words, to pursue a sustainable and stable fiscal policy, Deputy State Secretary Péter Benő Banai stated at a three-day conference on municipal fiscal and taxation affairs held in Eger.
