Central-Europe’s only simulation centre is operating under the aegis of HungaroControl from 10th of May in Budapest. The centre, equipped with state of the art technology, was opened by Mr. Pál Völner, Secretary of State responsible for infrastructure, Mr. Joe Sultana, COO of Directorate Network Management of EUROCONTROL (European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation), and Mr. Kornél Szepessy, CEO of HungaroControl (Hungarian Air Navigation Services) in the presence of the leaders of Air Navigation Services in the region. The aim of the Centre of Research, Development and Simulation (CRDS) is to aid the regional cooperation and the establishment of the Single European Sky.
For Hungary the agreement on the establishment of a single Central European functional airspace block was signed by Deputy State Secretary for European Union and International Affairs Tamás Iván Kovács on 5 May 2011 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The participants of the Functional Airspace Block Central Europe (FAB CE) include Hungary, Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovakia and Slovenia. The agreement is aimed at the creation of the legal and institutional background of the airspace block.
The informal meeting of the energy ministers of the European Union’s Member States was hosted by Minister for National Development, also in charge of energy, Tamás Fellegi on 2-3 May 2011. In summary of the experiences of the meeting, the minister said: the contributions and remarks revealed that the three pillars of the European Union’s energy strategy – namely, security of supply, competitiveness and sustainability – must be taken into consideration with equal significance during the finalisation of the Energy Strategy.
Minister of National Development and Government Commissioner for Hungarian-Chinese Economic Relations Tamás Fellegi regarded the intensive discussions closed on Thursday in China as highly positive and successful. Mr Fellegi pointed out: their negotiating parties agreed that in addition to improving the quality of trade relations, the creation of a new type of long-term strategic co-operation between the two countries was of outstanding significance.
Minister of National Development and Government Commissioner for Hungarian-Chinese Economic Relations Tamás Fellegi opened the visa office of the Hungarian Consulate General in Chongqing, the largest city in the central region of Chinese economic development, on 20 April, 2011. The event was attended by Consul General Tamás Hajba and Vice-President of Parliament István Újhelyi.
Minister of State for Infocommunication, Zsolt Nyitrai of the Ministry of National Development opened the two-day conference Future of Audiovisual Industry organised by the Hungarian Presidency in the Ethnographical Museum in Budapest, on 19 April 2011. In his speech Mr. Nyitrai pointed out: in respect of audiovisual content, the interests of consumers and authors of creative content must be approximated.
President and CEO of the Hungarian Railways (MÁV Zrt.), Ferenc Szarvas signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Strategic Cooperation with the leader of China Railway Construction Corporation in Beijing, on 19 April 2011. Mr. Szarvas visited China as a member of a delegation led by Minister of National Development and Government Commissioner for Hungarian-Chinese relations Tamás Fellegi.
On invitation from China, in his capacity as Government Commissioner for Hungarian-Chinese Economic Relations, Tamás Fellegi will have talks with high-ranking government officials, businessmen and investors in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shenzhen and Chongqing between 15-22 April 2011.
The European Emergency Number Association (EENA) was set up to popularise the European emergency number 112, co-ordinate the various European emergency centres, and, among others, boost the exchange of views between the specialists dealing with emergency calls. The organisation is holding a conference in Hotel Gellért, Budapest, between 13-15 April 2011.
Zsolt Nyitrai and Bence Rétvári gave welcome addresses on 7 April 2011 at the formal printing of a special envelop released on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Ronald Reagan, former President of the United States of America. The event was attended by Her Excellency Eleni Tsakopoulos Kounalakis, Ambassador of the United Stated in Hungary.
