Hungary is prepared to manage imminent flooding

At their meeting in Budapest, President of Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliev and Deputy Prime Minister Tibor Navracsics stated that it is extremely important to work much more closely together in order to achieve the objectives of Central and South-Eastern European Member States of the EU. Mr. Navracsics said that Hungary and Bulgaria are interested in a Europe in which the Central and South-Eastern European Member States are not second-class members of the community, and this is precisely why Hungary supports Bulgaria's accession to the Schengen Area.

Hungarian budget deficit only 2% in 2012

Significant foreign trade surplus again in the first month of this year

In January 2013, the volume of exports and imports was up by 0.9 percent and 3.3 percent, respectively, in comparison to the corresponding period of the previous year. Hungarian exports and imports totalled HUF 1 890bn and HUF 1 793bn, respectively, thus foreign trade posted a surplus of HUF 97bn (EUR 316 million) in the first month of the year.

Minimizing entrepreneurs’ losses by minimizing chain debts

Chain debts that cause 400 billion in annual losses to entrepreneurs will be decreased significantly – said Minister of State László Felkai at a press conference in Budapest. The Minister of State added that the law on the prevention of chain debts was adopted by Parliament this week, and the Government enacted the decree regarding its implementation on Thursday.
