The Ministry of Rural Development has inaugurated a new electric car charging station in Budapest. The new charging pylon, which contains two charging stations, is the tenth in the capital.
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs of the Ministry of Rural Development Gyula Budai and his negotiating partner, State Secretary of the Serbian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Danilo Golubovic agreed at their Sunday meeting in Gornji Breg (Felsőhegy), Vojvodina, to further increase cooperation in agriculture between Hungary and Serbia.
Hungary has proposed that the European Commission consider the possibility of allowing advance payments from this year's area-based EU agriculture funds in view of flood damage, Minister for Rural Development Sándor Fazekas stated in the recess of a meeting of EU agriculture ministers in Luxembourg.

The Minster of Rural Development has ordered an immediate investigation of seeds and crops after it came to his attention that certain quantities of genetically modified (GMO) maize seeds had entered Hungary illegally across the country's eastern borders. Sándor Fazekas announced his decision following the opening of a street festival in Budapest's 7th district.

Two Kiskunhegyes families with several children received the 99,999th and one-hundred thousandth sack of seed potatoes on Saturday, within the framework of the Ministry of Rural Development's Subsistence Farming Programme. The 30kg sacks of potatoes were presented to the middle-aged couples, who live in difficult social circumstances, by the head of the Ministry, Sándor Fazekas.
"There are more than two million detached houses in Hungary, built mainly between 1945 and 1990, that are in need of energetic modernisation. Renovation work would partly be realised with the help of European Union funding", said the Ministry of Rural Development's Minister of State of Environmental Affairs Zoltán Illés at a press conference on Friday.
