Hungary is committed to upholding the rights of its disabled citizens

Hungary was the first country to simultaneously ratify the United Nation’s Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and the related Optional Protocol. Thanks to this, we were the first country in which both individuals and civil organisations also have right to submit a complaint within the framework of the individual procedure set out in the CPRD’s Optional Protocol.

Hungary signs culture, sport and healthcare agreements with Vietnam

Minister of Human Resources Zoltán Balog and Vietnamese Deputy Ministers Le Khanh Hai and Le Quang Cuong concluded inter-ministerial agreements on culture, sport and healthcare on 16 September 2013 in Budapest. The work schedules determined for 2004-2016 will allow future direct cooperation between institutes and the development and realisation of concrete cooperation programmes. Parliamentary State Secretary András Doncsev from the Ministry of Human Resources opened an exhibition entitled "Vietnamese Porcelain - Fragile Reminiscence" in the Museum of Ethnography.

The Awards may be presented to people or civil organisations that have excelled in their community organisation activities and whose work has facilitated the development of donation culture. The recognition was bestowed on HÁLÓ (Network of Catholic Communities within the Carpathian Basin), President of the Misi Nyilas Foundation Sándor Szabó and folk dancer József Szigetvári.

Training program for disabled people

The training of 65 disabled people has been completed at Kézmű Nonprofit Ltd's site in Abádszalók, Eastern Hungary. The Hungarian Government provided the 6 million forint funding required for the program within the framework of the New Széchényi Plan, Minister of State for Social Affairs Miklós Soltész announced on Monday. Kézmű Nonprofit Ltd, which operates a sewing factory, employs 103 people of whom 73 are disabled.

Disadvantaged schools receive computers

Amendment to Public Education Act passed by Parliament

Government pays compensation to families of the 2008-2009 Roma murders
