Minister of Foreign Affairs János Martonyi paid an official visit to Chile between January 5 and 7 and reopened the Hungarian Embassy in Santiago de Chile. He also had talks with his counterpart and with the leaders of the Chilean Congress.
The 2013 Meeting of States Parties of the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention was held in Geneva from 9 to 13 December, chaired by Ms Judit Körömi, Special Representative of the Foreign Minister for Arms Control, Disarmament and Non-proliferation. A new website, funded by the United Kingdom’s Foreign & Commonwealth Office and the International Visegrad Fund, was presented at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on December 18. MFA Minister of State for European Affairs Enikő Győri received Vojtěch Belling State Secretary for European Affairs of the Czech Republic in Budapest, on Friday. The purpose of the meeting was to prepare for the General Affairs Council next week and to discuss Member State positions on other EU affairs.
