Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's Speech at the Inauguration of the Nagyerdő Stadium
Ladies and Gentlemen,
The tens of thousands of tons of iron and steel and the thousands of truckloads of concrete do not come together by themselves to create such a breathtaking building. Construction requires architects, engineers and workers. And before all else, it requires a creative idea.
Dear People of Debrecen,
This is how we imagine the future. The Hungarian spirit, Hungarian architects and engineers, Hungarian enterprises and workers will make Hungary great again through creations of this kind. My thanks and respect to everyone who contributed to the construction of the Nagyerdő Stadium through their work. The stadium was originally a unit used in ancient Greece to measure distance. Today, we are one stadium closer to being among the world's frontrunners.
Dear People of Debrecen,
Sport is capable of changing the world and helps us to raise our children to be strong and upstanding adults. I am glad that the moment had arrived when I can reply to the persistent question of football fans in Debrecen: where is the stadium? Dear People of Debrecen, here is the stadium! I hereby inaugurate the Nagyerdő Stadium, and may it be a source of health and enjoyment to you all!
Go, Hungary! Go, Debrecen!
