Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén is holding talks in Istanbul with Bartholomaios I, Ecumenical Patriarch and Archbishop of Constantinople, Press Chief Bertalan Havasi informed the press on Wednesday.

Mr. Havasi said that Minister of State for Church, Minority and Non-Governmental Relations György Hölvényi would also be present at the negotiations.

During the visit, which lasts until the 10 October, the Deputy Prime Minister will participate at a citizenship oath ceremony and will meet Hungary’s honorary consuls in Turkey as well as the leaders of the Turkish-Hungarian Friendship Society.
