Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén held talks with Apostolic Nuncio to Hungary Archbishop Alberto Bottari de Castello on 12 July.

The sides confirmed that relations between Hungary and the Holy See had been traditionally excellent.

Orbán gave the Apostolic Nuncio an outline of Hungary's education, health-care and welfare reforms and mentioned areas where the Catholic Church could play a more significant role.

The sides expressed their joy and anticipation of Hungary's upcoming talks with the Vatican.
