State Secretary for External Economic Relations and Foreign Affairs Péter Szijjártó received Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ecuador Marco Albuja Martínez today.
The trading volume between the two countries exceeded 5 million USD this year. Trade relations primarily focus on flower and fruit imports as well as on machinery exports. According to the new Hungarian foreign policy strategy, the Government is rebuilding its relations with the developing world.
Within the framework of cooperation on education and research, 20 university places will be provided for Ecuadorian students, in addition to which Hungarian university lecturers and researchers may travel to Ecuador.
Both countries have implemented important measures in the fight against state debt, because similarly to Hungary, Ecuador has also entered its debt ceiling into law.
