Hiking tourism providing low-income families with holiday opportunities is in need of renovated tourist houses, a modern sign system and up-to-date facilities in order to catch up with Austrian standards, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in a speech in Dobogókő, the highest point of the Northern Hungarian Visegrád Hills and a favoured tourist destination, after signing an agreement with the President of the Hungarian Association of Hikers (MTSZ).
The agreement so far designates only the framework for cooperation but the Government has already set aside some concrete suggestions. One of these is that the association could receive territory and facilities in public property and their renovation and maintenance will be supported by the Government.
