The number of state-financed places at colleges and universities cannot be fewer than 55,000 next year, Government spokesman András Giró-Szász told a press conference today, on 19 December.
The spokesperson said that in 2013, Hungary’s higher education spending would increase by at least 24 billion forints.
At the press conference, he reiterated the Government’s intention to involve students in talks on the reform of the education system. The Minister of Human Resources consulted student unions yesterday and will remain open for further consultations in the future.
