The Hungarian Government welcomes with respect the newly elected head of the Coptic Church.
We express our hope that Bishop Tawadros, commencing his service as Pope, will continue the respectable legacy of His Holiness Shenouda III and will serve as the strength of Coptic Christian communities living in Egypt and throughout the world. We are certain that Hungary’s relations with the entire Coptic community – as well as with Egypt – will be fruitful in the future, as it has also been in the past. We ask for God’s blessing on the new Pope’s service and the Coptic Church.
Zsolt Semjén,
Deputy Prime Minister
