On Wednesday the Government signed a strategic partnership agreement with the Hungarian unit of Japanese automotive-components company DENSO.
The agreement was signed by State Secretary for External Economic Relations and Foreign Affairs Péter Szijjártó and DENSO Manufacturing Hungary President Yamaguchi Shinsuke.
The State Secretary noted that DENSO, employing 3,000 people, has been present in Hungary for 15 years and had invested 500 million euros in the country.
He added that talks between the government and DENSO on further investment in Hungary are in their closing stages. Mr Shinsuke said that DENSO strives to strengthen its contacts with Hungarian suppliers.
The company makes various car components at its 70,000sqm base in Szekesfehervar in north-western Hungary.
