Hungary's State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations signed agreements on economic and educational cooperation in Argentina, as part of his three-day tour in South America, on Friday.

The cooperation pact signed with state secretary for foreign affairs Adrian Roberto Nador covers incentives for bilateral investments, support for cooperation in R+D, science and technology, and efforts to draw small and medium-sized firms into economic cooperation, State Secretary Péter Szijjártó stated.

Under the agreement on cooperation in education, 25 students from Argentina may start studies in water management, technical sciences or music at Hungarian universities. At the same time, the Argentine government will provide scholarships for postgraduate study and research for a total of 25 months.

Mr Szijjártó met Guillermo Carmona, head of Parliament's foreign affairs committee before opening a series of cultural events marking the Hungarian presidency of the Visegrad Four countries.
