Bilateral ties, energy and EU affairs were discussed by Hungary's State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations and a US State Department official in Budapest on Wednesday.
Péter Szijjártó met Hoyt Yee, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, for talks and stated that the Hungarian-US economic and trade cooperation is "a true success," also noting that US businesses have created 40,000 jobs in Hungary over the past ten years.
US businesses continue investing in Hungary, he told his counterpart, adding that the Hungarian government had concluded the largest number of strategic partnership agreements with US-based firms.
He expressed Hungary's firm support for the acceleration of the European integration of countries in the Western Balkans.The sides agreed on the need of enhancing energy security, the secretariat said, adding that Hoyt Yee regarded highly cooperation between the Visegrád Four group Hungary forms with the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia.
