The amount of capital investments flowing into Hungary is proof that the Government had made the right decision when it aimed to make Hungary the production centre of Europe, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations Péter Szijjártó, said after holding talks at the Swedish embassy in Budapest.
He told Northern European ambassadors that in Central Europe the GDP ratio of foreign investment is highest in Hungary, reaching 80%. He added that per capita foreign investment is 8000 euros, the second highest in Central Europe. Last year Hungary received 40% of investments targeting the Visegrád countries and Romania, he added.
Investments coming from Northern Europe provide jobs for approximately ten thousand people and the Government has already signed strategic partnership agreements with two companies, Lego Manufacturing Ltd. and Nokia Siemens Networks Ltd.
