With respect to energy security, Hungary will improve more in the next couple of years than it has during the past decades – said State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations Péter Szijjártó by telephone to Hungarian news agency MTI, after negotiating with the Chief Executive Officer of Gazprom in Moscow.
Péter Szijjártó and Alexey Miller reviewed ongoing European energy investments, especially the South Stream gas pipeline. According to the State Secretary, it can be stated that Hungary’s energy security is growing, on the one hand because of the construction of the South Stream pipeline and on the other hand because the interconnector that links the Hungarian and Slovakian gas pipeline systems is being built, and also because the gas storage unit system will become national property in the near future.
