State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations Péter Szijjártó held talks focusing on economic issues in Budapest on Tuesday with Israel's former Prime Minister Ehud Barak.
Mr. Szijjarto briefed Mr. Barak on political and economic developments in Hungary. They noted that Israeli businesses have so far invested around 3 billion dollars of working capital in Hungary and discussed the possibility of increasing this volume, identifying real estate, mechanical engineering and industrial R+D development as prospective sectors for further investment.
Israeli investments in Hungary - some 200-300 million dollars-a-year - are its largest in Central Europe.
