State Secretary for External Economic Relations and Foreign Affairs Péter Szijjártó received First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov.

Péter Szijjártó declared that Hungary endeavours to maintain close cooperation with the countries of  Central Asia within the framework of its policy of Opening to the East.

Photo: Gergely BotárPéter Szijjártó said that he is doing his utmost to conclude negotiations on providing loan funding to Uzbekistan that will enable Hungarian companies to modernise the public lightning system of Uzbek cities as well as to export Hungarian medical equipment to Uzbekistan.

The partners agreed that they would launch negotiations on a scholarship exchange program and expand agricultural cooperation between the two countries, focusing especially on water management and exporting irrigation systems.
