Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has appointed State Secretary Péter Szijjártó as Governmental Commissioner for the development of Hungarian-Russian and Hungarian-Chinese economic relations.
These positions were previously filled by Minister of National Economy György Matolcsy, who was, however, recently appointed as President of the Hungarian National Bank.
State Secretary Péter Szijjártó declared that, among others, objectives include financial and strategic cooperation with China, in which the National Bank will play a significant role. The further goal of the Government is to implement significant infrastructural developments with the help of Chinese financial funds, such as for example the construction of the railway ring for cargo traffic approaching Budapest from the south.
