At the meeting, Mexican Deputy Foreign Minister Juan Manuel Gómez Robledo said that Europe will play an important role in increasing Mexican exports.
State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations Péter Szííjártó stressed that this is an excellent opportunity for Hungary, "because although we have already tripled imports and doubled our exports over just three years, this one billion dollar level of foreign trade still leaves significant opportunities for growth".
Accordingly, the two countries' investment agencies will cooperate in future in the interests of increasing trade turnover so that new Mexican enterprises can follow the example of the two very successful (car manufacturing supply and construction) Mexican companies already operating in Hungary. The parties also added that they had agreed to begin talks on the launching of a scholarship exchange programme.
