State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations Péter Szijjártó received his Brazilian counterpart Hadil Fontes da Rocha Vianna for talks in Budapest on Monday.
Building ties with fast-developing regions of the world, including South America, is a priority for the Hungarian Government, Szijjártó’s press chief said following the meeting. Accordingly, trade turnover between the two countries has increased by 75 percent in the past three years. Hungarian companies trading with Brazil are focusing on exports within the fields of food, textiles and vehicle production.
The parties have agreed to jointly work out an action plan to remove the red tape hindering further development of bilateral trade, as well as to increase the number of Brazilian students attending Hungarian universities.
