Thanks to Hungary's improved economic performance, over 200 thousand Hungarians will continue to be employed in public works and training schemes during winter, government spokesman András Giró-Szász told public radio on Wednesday morning.
Briefing on a Tuesday Government meeting, Mr. Giró-Szász also said that a number of issues affecting the day-to-day lives of Hungarians had been discussed, including tax laws. Hungary's tax system is stable and only "minor fine-tuning" is being performed to further simplify it. Decisions have been made concerning tax measures, he said, adding that related further questions would be discussed at the next meeting.
In relation to issues concerning education, the Government decided that PE teacher trainings financed from the central budget would continue with the participation of over a thousand teachers in order to further ensure daily physical education in schools, and that all children should be taught to swim within the framework of the public education system in settlements that have training pools.
