Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is currently on an official three-day working visit to Japan. The official delegation includes, amongst others, Minister of Human Resources Zoltán Balog and Minister of National Economy Mihály Varga.

During his stay, the Hungarian Prime Minister will be received in audience by Emperor Akihito at the Imperial Palace and hold a summit meeting with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, with the main objective of agreeing on the further strengthening of political, economic and cultural ties between Hungary and Japan. Talks with Finance Minister Taro Aso, and senior executives of major Japanese companies are also part of Prime Minister Orbán’s visit as well as participating at a dinner held in his honour and hosted by his Japanese counterpart.

On the economic front, the Prime Minister will deliver a presentation at the Japanese-Hungarian Business and Investment Forum held at the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) on Thursday, and will participate in the Japan-Hungary Business Forum organised in collaboration with the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren) on Friday.

During his stay, Prime Minister Orbán is also scheduled to give a lecture entitled "Hungary and Europe in a Changing World" at Josai University and open the Center for Hungarian Culture and Tourism in Tokyo.
