Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban discussed European Union-related issues and the European economic situation during talks with UK Foreign Secretary William Hague in Budapest on Thursday.
Minister Hague stated that relations between Hungary and Britain were "very strong, very good". He said topics discussed with Prime Minister Orbán included the Eurozone crisis, the EU's multiannual financial framework (MFF) as well as the need to make energy cooperation tighter and more efficient among European countries.
They agreed on the need to eliminate energy dependence, stating that creating energy security is a strategic interest of vital importance, and all steps to eradicate energy dependence should be supported. They also concluded that while managing the economic challenges Europe is facing job creation must be kept in sight.
