Prime Minister Viktor Orbán consulted by phone with his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang on Wednesday, government commissioner in charge of Chinese relations, Péter Szijjártoó stated.
The Chinese premier congratulated Mr Orbán on his election victory and the two parties reviewed the progress of agreements previously in Beijing, including preparations for the upgrade of a Budapest-Belgrade rail line and the construction of the V0 rail line encircling Budapest.
The prime ministers agreed that Hungary would continue to play an important role in shaping Chinese-EU relations, Mr Szijjártó said, adding that it had a special significance that direct consultations took place within such short time after their meeting.
