Prime Minister Viktor Orbán held talks with President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy in Brussels on Wednesday, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s Press Chief said.

The meeting was timely since EU heads of state will meet in Brussels in a weeks’ time to discuss the 2014-2020 Multiannual Financial Framework. At their meeting on Wednesday, the Hungarian Prime Minister and President Van Rompuy reviewed the Hungarian standpoint on the issue.

The meeting lasted almost an hour and the parties expressed their intent to continue constructive cooperation, while Prime Minister Orbán reinforced his invitation for President Van Rompuy to visit Hungary.
