Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is attending a two-day EU summit on Eastern Partnership which started in Vilnius, Lithuania, on Thursday. The Hungarian Prime Minister will participate in an informal meeting of heads of state and governments of EU and European Council members chaired by European Council President Herman Van Rompuy.

This will be followed by a working dinner with delegates. On Friday he will participate in signing agreements between the EU and Eastern Partnership countries and will address the summit's plenary session.

The summit is being held in the context of EU accession talks with Ukraine coming to a halt on Russian pressure. Georgia and Moldova, however, insist on signing the accession agreement in the coming years, including the free trade agreement which forms a part of the overall agreement. Another goal is to eliminate visa requirements for citizens of the six countries travelling to the EU.
