The strong presence of German businesses in Hungary suggests that the economies of the two countries "will slowly but surely entwine", Prime Minister Viktor Orban said during a visit to Munich on Thursday.

Orban spoke following talks with Horst Seehofer, Minister-President of Bavaria, and spoke highly of German investment in Hungary, saying that German companies in Hungary did not only build factories but set up research and development centres, and contributed to university courses and vocational training efforts.

Orban said he hoped Hungarians could take from the Germans' optimism and once Hungary's reforms are complete, the result will be "a nice economic achievement" by a stronger country.

Seehofer said they also discussed other than economic matters, such as cooperation between countries along the Danube river.
