Government spokesman András Giró-Szász stated on Wednesday that the Ministry of National Development had been asked to work out the conditions under which a 10% cut could be implemented in the case of gas and electricity prices.

In a radio interview last week, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said the Government was working on reducing household overheads, and that companies would have to accept lower profits. He stated that the public service sector should not be used for profit-making activities, especially in the case of companies acting as middlemen between consumers and energy producers.
