Talks between the organisations involved in the project have begun in accordance with an agreement between the Hungarian and Chinese premiers signed in Beijing last week, spokeswoman Judit Fülöp said.
The participants include China's Eximbank, the Chinese Ministry of Finance, Trade and Foreign Affairs, and from the Hungarian side the Prime Minister's Office, Hungarian State Railways (MÁV) and the Hungarian Development Bank, she added.
Talks are currently focused on preferential loan conditions, the details of construction and the necessary government agreements. The renovation of the 374 km Budapest-Belgrade rail line is expected to cost 3 billion dollars.
