Hungary and Austria will build new cross-border roads and reconstruct others as well as some border stations in the coming years, Péter Szijjárto, state secretary for foreign affairs and trade said after talks with Hans Niessl, Governor of Burgenland, in Budapest on 11 February.
The governor of Austria's easternmost province also held talks with Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
During the EU's 2014-2020 financial framework, some of the 29 existing border crossings will be revamped and 30 minor roads opened between the two countries, he said.
Hungary agreed to build two roads to the border at Ronok and Nemesmedves, reconstruct a further two and make one passable for the disabled in 2014, Szijjárto said.
