Following talks with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Titov on Hungarian-Russian economic relations, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations Péter Szijjártó announced at a press briefing that Hungary is planning to open a trade house, comprising of an investment centre and a logistics warehouse, in Moscow in the middle of April.
The State Secretary highlighted that Russia is Hungary’s most important trading partner outside the European Union; however, bilateral trade shows a Russian surplus of 5 billion dollars.
He noted that during his visit to Moscow in January, the Hungarian Prime Minister agreed with his Russian partners that the two countries would make efforts to balance this.
The soon-to-be-opened trade house will serve this goal, Péter Szijjártó concluded.
Upon the invitation of the Russian Minister of Agriculture, Mr Szijjártó will be present at the opening and they will also hold negotiations.
According to the plans, the trade house will convey investments, deal with business consultancy and carry out activities in the fields of tourism and trade.
