Hungary is committed to supporting the European aspirations of the Western Balkan countries, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations Péter Szijjártó emphasised following a meeting with Fatos Beja, Chairman of the Albanian Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy.
At the meeting, the Hungarian State Secretary offered Hungary’s assistance to Albania in using pre-accession funds efficiently.
The parties agreed that regarding the upcoming Hungarian-Albanian joint economic committee meeting in April, it is in the interests of both countries to boost trade relations, primarily within the fields of energy, infrastructural development and environmental issues. They also agreed that in order to facilitate stable economic relations, the scholarship-exchange program must be given special attention.
