Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban met the management of German carmaker Audi in Munich to discuss progress on current investment and further cooperation, Orban's spokesman told MTI on Thursday.

The Audi managers told Orban that the expansion of the plant at Gyor in north-western Hungary was going well, Peter Szijjarto said.

He added that the Audi leaders also praised the quality of the work of Hungarian contractors who are building about three-fourths of the expansion.

The managers informed the Hungarian prime minister about further development plans, Szijjarto said, adding that Orban outlined measures the government had taken to make the investment environment more attractive for foreign firms in Hungary.

Orban and the Audi managers agreed to establish closer cooperation regarding Hungary's system of vocational and adult education in the coming months, said Szijjarto.

Audi laid the cornerstone of a 900-million-euro expansion project in Gyor in July last year. The expansion will bring the output to 125,000 cars per year from 2013.

During his one-day visit in Munich, Orban held talks with the management of Siemens earlier in the day, and is also scheduled to meet Minister-President of Bavaria Horst Seehofer.
