The Hungarian-Macedonian Joint Economic Committee started a two-day meeting in Budapest on Tuesday. State secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations Péter Szijjártó stated that the committee decided that areas of bilateral cooperation include energy, transport, farm and tourism sectors.
He added that the cooperation would involve Hungarian participation in the renovation, operation and maintenance of the Macedonian energy system. He also highlighted that Hungary's Eximbank and the Macedonian Development Bank are in talks on establishing a credit line to boost the competitiveness of Hungary's exports to Macedonia.
The parties discussed the participation of Hungarian companies in the Skopje 2014 infrastructural investment programs and on Wednesday will sign a cooperation agreement on tourism. State secretary Szijjártó co-chairs the committee with Macedonian Minister of Economy Valon Saracini.
