The Macedonian Government has issued a call for applications to allow 20 Hungarian students to pursue their studies at Macedonian universities, which may be regarded as another success in bilateral relations between Hungary and the central Balkan state.
As part of a six-point economic action plan adopted in May 2013 at the initiative of Hungary, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations Péter Szijjártó and Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski agreed to extend the academic scholarship exchange program between the two countries.
As a result, Péter Szijjártó, who is also co-chair of the Hungarian-Macedonian joint economic committee, agreed in December 2013 on the development of educational relations with Macedonian co-chair, Minister of Economy Valon Saracini.
