On Thursday Hungary's State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations Péter Szijjártó held talks with Octavian Calmic, Moldova's deputy economy minister.
Over the past few months bilateral economic cooperation has gained momentum. Pharmaceutical company Richter raised its investments to 10 million euros and established a new distribution base in Moldova. Talks are underway on a Hungarian company maintaining the aircraft of Air Moldova.
Plans are afoot to cooperate in processing animal proteins as well as in water management, environmental protection and farm technology. Moldova's prime minister is scheduled to pay an official visit to Hungary on November 5. Simultaneously, Budapest will host a Moldovan business forum.
