State Secretary for the Prime Minister’s Office János Lázár participated in an event commemorating the famous recruitment speech of the great Hungarian politician and patriot Lajos Kossuth, given on 24th September 1848 in Cegléd.
The Minister of State said that without the social cooperation, the common will and the support of people facilitated by Lajos Kossuth in 1848, the Hungarian nation would not be a successful one today.
He added that the inhabitants of Cegléd could be proud of their city and their forefathers who had made such a sacrifice for their homeland.
He also praised the delegation from the town which travelled to Turin in 1877 to encourage Kossuth, who was in exile there at the time, to come back to Hungary and become the representative of Cegléd.
