Albania and Hungary have a good chance of becoming winners in the coming decades, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said referring to both countries’ economies on Wednesday after talks with Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha in Tirana.
The Hungarian Prime Minister’s one-day visit marked the 100th anniversary of Albania’s independence. After negotiations with Prime Minister Sali Berisha, Orbán Viktor held a press conference. He expressed his acknowledgement regarding Albania's economic development and the growth achieved in recent years. The countries that succeed in decreasing public debt and boosting economic development will be the most successful in the future, he said.
As to the country’s national day, Orbán said that Hungarians felt the magnitude of the moment when Albanians celebrate the 100th anniversary of their independence.
The Prime Ministers praised Hungarian-Albanian friendship and discussed economic cooperation that they pledged to further intensify in the future.
Orbán also held talks with President Bujar Nishani after which he attended a military parade at the capital’s Skanderbeg Square.
Orbán last visited Albania in June 2011, as part of a tour of the western Balkans organised during Hungary's EU Presidency.
