31 businesses are representing Hungary at the 79th International Agriculture Fair in Vojvodina, held from May 12-18 with the support of the Hungarian Collective Agricultural Marketing Centre (AMC). For seven companies, this is the first time they are presenting themselves before the Serbian public. On May 12, Minister for Rural Development Sándor Fazekas will be holding talks with Serbian Minister for Commerce, Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Dušan Petrović.
A commemoration service was held in remembrance of Mihály Kováts, a Hungarian born hussar colonel who was killed in action during the American War of Independence, in the city of his birth, Karcag.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán informed Tamás Fellegi that he would initiate his release from his mandate as Minister Without Portfolio with the President of the Republic effective as of 1 June 2012.

Meeting of the ministers for development cooperation at the Foreign Affairs Council will be held in Brussels on the 14 May, 2012. Hungary will be represented by Ambassador Péter Györkös, Permanent Representative of Hungary to the EU. The topics of the meeting are the future of the EU development policy, EU budget support to third countries, reflection on the EU’s collective development aid targets, Burma/Myanmar and preparations for Rio+20.

At the beginning of the week, Dr Miklós Szócska, Minister of State for Health attended the annual major eHealth Conference which took place in Copenhagen. During the event, one of the EU’s high level advisory bodies responsible for developing the EU’s electronic healthcare strategy, the eHealth Task Force also held a meeting.
On behalf of the Government, the Minister of Public Administration and Justice presented to Parliament the proposed amendments to certain laws related to media services and press products. The Ministry announced already in April that, in acknowledgement of the decision of the Constitutional Court, they would present the proposed amendments to the legislation in order to achieve full harmony with the Fundamental Law.
