The fraction union of FIDESZ-KDNP, the presidencies of the ruling parties and the Government of Hungary made a political decision to launch the Structural Reform Programme. The programme is aimed at consolidating the Hungarian public sector by means of structural reforms, strengthening economic growth, encouraging the increase of employment and enhancing the competitiveness of Hungary’s economy.

At its March 2, 2011 session, the Government of the Republic of Hungary decided to set up the Tom Lantos Institute. Minister of Rural Development Sándor Fazekas met with Mr. István Jakab on Friday morning. Currently in Hungary much more is being spent on support related to disability than in other countries which are at a similar stage of development or which have similar healthcare parameters. If enterprises consider administrative costs too high, they may opt to scale back production and investments or would-be investors may decide not to come to Hungary.
